Despite the VNINDEX dropping slightly on Friday, both floors in Vietnam continued their upward trend. The VNINDEX rose 5.8% W/W to 483.05. The trading value on the HOSE rose 0.3% W/W to US$172.9MM. In Hanoi, the VHINDEX rose 12.5% W/W to 149.68 due to strong performance of a leading stock, ACB, given its good 1H08 results. The trading value on the HASTC was US$66.9MM, up 0.3% W/W. Foreigners remained net buyers on the HOSE with US$12.2MM, but accounted for only 7% of the total turnover, while they turned net sellers on the HASTC with –US$0.6MM.
