Vietnam’s real GdP growth came in at a better-than-expected 6.8% in 2010, led by a strong performance in the construction sector. Go- ing forward, BMI expect domestic demand to remain robust on the back of rising wages and improving consumer sentiment. in light of a good Q410 result and our Global team’s recent upgrade on the us economy, BMI are revising our real GdP growth forecast upwards from 5.5% to 6.3% for 2011. However, BMI warn that mounting infationary pressures, a persistent trade defcit and fscal imbalances remain outstanding risks that could undermine macroeconomic stability over the coming months.
